Email Update

Beginning in mid April, we will be updating our email server to add additional security for the protection of our customers email accounts.  Country I Link has joined many other ISPs in combating the spread of spam (unsolicited emails). One of the options available is to enable SMTP authentication.  This setting change has your email software check with our server to verify that you are one of our users and are permitted to send mail.

Although this is something that we have had in place for customers outside of our local area, we will now be requiring this for all customers in Juniata, Mifflin, and Perry Counties, too.  So, your cooperation is needed to make a change in your email program so that you do not have trouble when sending out emails.

This email setting change is only required for those customers who are using a Country I Link email address and using an email program like Outlook or Outlook Express to Download their email.  This change does NOT apply to those customers using our 'Webmail' or those using a Yahoo, Hotmail, or another email address.

Please select your Email program from the list below.  Due to the various number of email programs out there, we are only including instructions for programs we most commonly setup.  However, other email programs are very similar.

Outlook Express (All Versions)

Microsoft Outlook ( 2002 & Above)

Windows Mail (Vista)

Netscape 7.1

Eudora 6

Mozilla 1.4

If you are using an email program such as Incredimail or an older version of Microsoft Outlook, and have difficulty making the necessary changes, please feel free to contact us, we'd be happy to help.
