A pop-up menu will appear (shown below), providing access to all the features of the product. Selecting and single-clicking any of the menu items will access that particular feature.

Using Firewall/Security Software

If you have Norton's Internet Security, McAfee's Personal Firewall or any other security/firewall software installed (Windows firewall does not apply), you may need to manually configure your security software to allow the 1Dial Web Accelerator to work correctly through it.  Please consult your product documentation for the configuration settings in your firewall software.  The 'Web Accelerator' service needs to be set to 'Allow' or 'Allow All' in order to work correctly.

Due to the various software vendor's configurations, if you are unable to find these settings, please contact us at support@countryilink.net.  We will do our best to provide some assistance with the correct configuration needed.  Please include the security product installed in your email to us. (i.e. Norton's Internet Security 2008).

Troubleshooting

  1. Why am I not able to connect to the remote service?

  2. Why do some Java-applets (such as certain games on www.pogo.com) not work?

  3. Why am I receiving a message stating:  'Accelerator is waiting for core services to start. If this problem persists please contact your ISP'?

  4. How can I manually configure my proxy settings to use 1Dial when browsing with Opera?

  5. How do I remove 1Dial Web Accelerator from my computer?

Why am I not able to connect to the remote service?

This problem usually results either a yield sign or a crossed sign for the 1Dial icon in the Notification Area

A.  If you see a yield sign as shown below...

Please ensure that you have the correct server name, and server port number for your connection settings. Also please make sure that you have an active internet connection and your server is currently available.

This might also be caused by the High Speed Auto-Detection feature.  1Dial Web Accelerator will not connect to the server once an active high speed connection, such as DSL or cable modem, is detected.

B.  If you see a crossed sign as shown below...

Please make sure that you have entered the correct username and password in the 1Dial connection settings.

C.  If the 1Dial Web Accelerator was previously working, but is no longer able to connect and you have insured that the correct connection information has been entered correctly...

Please reinstall the 1Dial Web Accelerator.  This issue might have been caused by a recent update of the 1Dial Web Accelerator.  When we update the 1Dial Web Accelerator, your client version should update, too.  However, due to some firewall configurations or other computer configurations, this might not occur and will cause your client to not connect to the acceleration server.  Manually reinstalling the 1Dial Web Accelerator usually fixes this issue.  Please visit the link at the top of this support page to install the 1Dial Web Accelerator.  You will not need to uninstall your current version.  Installing the latest version will automatically overwrite the previous version.

Why do some Java-applets (such as certain games on www.pogo.com) not work?

Older versions of the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) cannot display certain image types (such as PNG).

To fix this problem, simply change your Image Setting to the maximum quality level or upgrade to the newest JRE at JAVA.COM.

Why am I receiving a message stating: 'Accelerator is waiting for core services to start. If this problem persists please contact your ISP'?

This issue can occur when the 1Dial Web Accelerator is attempting to integrate into your web browser, but is unable to do so.  The root cause of this is usually related to Firewall or Parental Control software that is causing a conflict with the 1Dial Web Accelerator.  If this is the first time you have seen this message, please restart your computer.  This should correct the conflict.

If this message persists, please contact us for further support.

How can I manually configure my proxy settings to use 1Dial when browsing with Opera?

With 1Dial enabled, please open the "Files > Preferences > Network > Proxy server" in Opera 6 or "Tools > Preferences > Advanced > Network > Proxie servers" window in Opera 7/8. Set the HTTP Proxy as "127.0.0.1:5403" (shown below).  Please note that if you do this, you must remove these proxy settings when you wish to browse without the 1Dial Web Accelerator.
